Having a hat made is an exciting experience, not a daunting one.
Finding the perfect hat or headpiece for your daughter or son’s wedding day can seem overwhelming. Customers frequently say ‘hats don’t suit me.’ However, there are many shapes and styles to suit all face shapes and statures. We have never failed to find a hat style to suit someone! At RSM you will receive expert advice on choosing the perfect style to suit your occasion, outfit, and personality. You are welcome to bring a friend or family member to help you decide.
When planning your wedding outfit, there is no right or wrong place to start. If you have your outfit, please bring it along to your appointment along with any accessories like shoes. Otherwise, why not choose your hat or headdress first? This leaves the scope wide open for style and colour choices! Opt for a statement dress or hat/fascinator, but not both—you want your hat to complement your outfit, not compete with it. Alternatively, pairing the simplest dress with a statement hat and the right shoes and bag can be more impactful. The right hat will make you stand tall, pull your shoulders back, and make you feel incredible, exuding confidence on your big day.
Lead times for bespoke orders range from six to twelve weeks depending on the time of year. If it’s not a busy period, we can make things in less time, so it’s always worth asking us by email or phone. The initial appointment takes around one hour to discuss and choose the appropriate style of hat, and any head measurements will be taken. You maybe required to leave your outfit for colour matching or if you have a swatch of fabric. A second appointment will be made for the fitting, which will take up to 30 minutes where any adjustments can be noted. Finally, a third appointment will be arranged to collect the hat, which will come in a beautifully packaged hat box.
